Alhambra Co-Hosts 2013 Embassy-University Showcase

WASHINGTON, D.C. — In an effort to expand teacher training and international educational development to countries around the world, the Global Initiative for Education and Leadership at The University of Texas at Austin co-hosted the 2013 Higher Education Fair and Embassy-University Showcase on June 25 in Washington. D.C.

Partners included the Embassies of Bahrain and Malaysia, and the Alhambra U.S. Chamber.

The showcase provided a space where members of the diplomatic community and higher education institutions could directly interface on issues such as educational exchange opportunities, financial assistance and admission practices, as well as share information about new programs, capabilities and needs.

The event hosted lectures to help identify various international opportunities. Speakers included the Deputy Director General of the Ministry of Higher Education of Malaysia, the Ambassadors of Bahrain and Malaysia, and Richard Flores, Senior Associate Dean for the College of Liberal Arts and Executive Director of the UT Global Initiative.
